The trip to 'the Mokes' is 26-28 nautical miles depending on where we fish first and takes just over an hour.
Usually we meet in the morning approx 6.30 to 6.45am to prepare to board RnR.
At the end of Alamar Cres, you will see the pontoon, please bring your gear down onto the pontoon, from there you will board RnR.
Unless otherwise arranged, RnR will be back from the Mokes at the Mangawhai pontoon around 5.00 to 5.30pm.

Mokohinau Islands  

Fishing the day targeting Trophy Snapper, Kingies and Hapuku (in season) around the Mokohinau Islands including surrounding deeper and shallow reefs and pinnacles.
 

Hen and Chicken Islands  

Fishing the day in the regions around Bream Tail , Sail Rock and the Hen & Chicks.

We fish the day until just before dusk.

That evening aboard RnR, Wayne's “fish of the day” meal is served and you are able to relax and enjoy the evening catching a few livies or you can turn in for a good nights sleep.
 

Next morning is spent fishing and you will return back to the mooring around midday that day.

Overnight (4 anglers) Your choice of Mokohinau Islands, or Gt Barrier Island.
We fish the day until just before dusk.

That evening aboard RnR, Wayne's “fish of the day” meal is served and you are able to relax and enjoy the evening catching a few livies or you can turn in for a good nights sleep.

Next day is spent fishing and you will return back to the mooring around 5pm that day.

Wayne and Stef have been enjoying this life for over twenty years now and would like to share it with you aboard RnR

Fishing for the big one, or do the Great Barrier Island Experience, taking in your choice of Hen & Chickens Islands or the Mokohinau Islands .

Suggested itinerary;

On day one, we meet at the Mangawhai Pontoon around 6:45 – 7am.

From here we head out to the Mokohinau Islands, spending some time fishing, exploring the islands waterways, or swimming after a walk to the light house.

That evening a hearty “fish of the day” meal is served in a sheltered anchorage.

In the morning we set out for Great Barrier Island and depending on weather conditions, we explore the East or West Coasts of the Island, going ashore to try the local Island products, including Sven Stellins' wonderful organic Kanuka essential oils and honey, a visit to Smoke House bay for a bath in the out doors or to smoke your catch of the day.

Maybe you would like to visit the Art and Craft galleries to look at or purchase some of the unique quality art of the local Barrier people.

This experience can take just a day or two, or a week or two, your choice.

Returning back to Mangawhai aboard RnR.

Other transport can be arranged to or from Gt. Barrier Island by helicopter, fixed wing plane, or ferry (current rates will apply).

**Diesel levy may apply for outer (Hapuku) reef areas and Gt Barrier Island, competition fishing or extended trips. $50.00 per day

• Complimentary tea and coffee available on all trips.
• *Evening meal provided, other catering by arrangement.  
• Rods available for hire and include basic tackle.
• Bait, contact Wayne or Stef for the best bait to bring for your trip.
• Phone Darryl at the Mangawhai Tackle shop (09 431 5385) and order your bait, he will have it ready for you at the pontoon.
• Diving, longer trips, competition fishing, we aim to please.
• To confirm your charter a $250.00 deposit is required within 5 days of booking.

• In the event that the boat is unable to depart due to bad weather or other reason, either a re-booking will be arranged or a full refund of your deposit will be made.
• Other cancellations require 14 days notice for your deposit to be refundable.
• Charter prices are subject to change, but at any time, all trips booked with deposit paid remain as quoted.
